Vikranth C. Potluri, 37, of Utica and formerly of Clinton, passed away on March 28 at Wynn Hospital.

From the moment of his birth in Washington, D.C., Vik’s joyful and mischievous spirit took him on frequent adventures. Many of them were in central New York, where he attended the Clinton Central schools. He graduated summa cum laude from Buffalo State College with a bachelor’s degree in social work, followed by double master’s degrees in social work and public health from the University at Buffalo. He took his passion for supporting others through their struggles to a fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at Upstate University Hospital, where he was beginning his career as a counselor. An avid fan of music, he loved seeing his favorite performers live. He also enjoyed cooking for friends and family and exploring the beauty of the region’s natural areas.

Beloved son of Nirmala Potluri and the late Sudhir Potluri, he is survived by his sister, brother-in-law, nieces and nephew, several cousins, and many cherished friends, aunties, and uncles.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., preceded by Hindu services at 11:00 a.m., at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
