In Memory of Maria and Yakov Yakimchuk

Obituary

Maria Yakimchuk 80, and Yakov Yakimchuk 83 of Utica, NY passed away at home one day apart on December 23-24, 2020 surrounded by their children.

Maria was born on May 15, 1940 in Belarus daughter of Dmitry and Eva Olizarevich.

Yakov was born on October 29, 1937 in Ukraine son of Fedor and Praskovia Yakimchuk. He is survived by two younger brothers Ivan and Nikolay Yakimchuk in Utica, NY. Both Maria and Yakov left behind many nieces and nephews.

They were married April 23, 1961 and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in April 2021.

They immigrated from Belarus to Utica in March of 1990 where they settled to raise their family. Their lives were focused on work ethic and serving God at Slavic Pentecostal Church.
Maria and Yakov are survived by their kids Nikolay and Elena FL, Irina and Alex Tkachuk SC, Yelena Ivanova MN, Zhanna Myalik of Utica, NY and Dmitry and Anna Yakimchuk FL.
They are greatly loved and missed by their 15 grand kids and 5 great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Monday January 4, 2021 from 11:30am until 1:00pm at Slavic Pentecostal Church followed by burial @ 2pm at Forest Hill Cemetery Lot 73. All flower arrangements are greatly appreciated and should be sent directly to church by 10am. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services.
