Obituary

Chiquita F. Lebiednik, 77, of New Hartford, died Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

She was born on September 10, 1945, in Durham, NC, a daughter of the late William and Frances Conway Stillwell. She graduated from New York Mills High School, MVCC and Morrisville College as a Register Nurse. On September 14, 1967, Chiquita married Stan Lebiednik in Hope Alliance Church. Chiquita was an RN for 45 years at Faxton Hospital working in surgery, ambulatory and pain management.

She was a member of the Hope Alliance Church in New Hartford. She loved animals and especially her dog Daisy. She also enjoyed going on walks and spending the winter in Florida. With her free time, she looked forward to knitting.

She is survived by her husband, Stan Lebiednik; daughter, Diane Pruitt and her husband, Sam of Canastota; sister, Debbie Gifford of Bridgewater; brothers, Raymond “Butch” Stillwell and his wife Hazel of Ilion, Ronnie Andrews of Durham, NC and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Stillwell.

The family would like to offer a special thank to the staff on the 3rd floor ICU, especially, Kristin, Tara, Julianne, Courtney, Dr. Desai, Dr. Love and Dr. Arastu for all the care and support given to Chiquita.

The funeral will be on Thursday at 12:00 at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Calling hour will be on Thursday from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the funeral.
