Obituary

Yvonne Carroll Millar, 86, of the Eastern Star Home, formerly of Whitesboro, died November 9, 2018 at the home.

She was born October 31, 1932 in Dungannon, Northern Ireland.

Yvonne was married to Thomas H. Millar June 11, 1956 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Thomas died in 1979.

She worked as a Bus Driver for the Whitesboro Central School District for 11 years. She was also employed for many years at Zogby International before she retired.

Yvonne was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, New Hartford, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, performing on stage in Scrooge for 11 years and in the Murder Mysteries at the Stanley Performing Arts Center where she was also a volunteer.

She is survived by her son Paul (Claudine) and her beloved grandchildren Daniel and Meghan Millar. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and family members in Canada and Northern Ireland as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, her son Tommy and her daughter Elizabeth.

The family wishes to thank Yvonne’s dear friend Eileen Lang for being such a true friend to Yvonne for many years. They also wish to thank the staff of the Eastern Star Home for all of the care for Yvonne over the last few years.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 25 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, with The Rev. Joell Szachara officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
