In Memory of William J. "Ghost" Durr

Obituary

William J. Durr, 63, affectionately known by many as “Ghost,” passed away on September 24, 2025.

Born in Sidney, NY on April 15, 1962, Bill was the son of William Durr and Helen Vaillancourt.

He was a proud graduate of VVS High School, class of 1980. Bill spent many years working as a dedicated truck driver with Conway Freight Company.

Bill had a strong love for the motorcycle community. He was a loyal brother and proud member of two M/Cs, forging countless friendships and bonds along the way.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; sons, James Parker and Travis Durr; sisters, Jackie Badger (Scott) and Tammy Matys (Mike); three grandchildren he adored; stepson, Joseph of Long Island; as well as many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many many dear friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his close friend Jason.

Bill will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, and the many connections he made throughout his life. His legacy will live on through the family and friends who loved him dearly.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 1 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
