Obituary

Tito J. Torres, formerly of Bronx, New York, passed away in Utica, New York on May 15, 2026. He was born on September 17, 1971 in the Bronx, New York, the son of Linda Torres.

Tito graduated from St. Rose Culinary School and went on to build a career doing what he loved most, cooking. He retired from Garcia Mexican Restaurant, where he worked as a chef and shared his passion for food with many through the years.

Tito was a devoted father, brother, and friend who loved spending time with his children and family. Aside from cooking he also enjoyed reading and drawing. 

He is survived by his brothers, Jesse Anderson, Duane Torres, Hector Torres, and Seneca Torres; his sisters, Precious Torres and Antoinette Torres; his sons, Tito Torres Jr., Jisiah Torres, and Christopher Torres; and his daughter, Soulena Torres.

Tito was predeceased by his mother, Linda Torres.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Torres family and the Beckwith family, and all those who attend and support them during this difficult time.

A funeral service will be held at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court St., Utica, on June 3 at 1:00 p.m.
