Thomas F. Kukowski, 84, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Wynn Hospital.
He was born on May 9, 1941, in Utica, the son of the late Chester and Ann (Kowalczyk) Kukowski. Tom proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. Following his service, he pursued his education at MVCC and graduated from Utica College in 1969.
On August 2, 1969, Tom married the love of his life, Linda Morris, at Holy Trinity Church. He worked as a purchasing manager for several local tech companies before retiring in 2006. In retirement, Tom cherished time with his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading, and visiting the casino.
He was a member of Historic Old St. John’s Church in Utica.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his children, Brian Kukowski and his wife, Rebeca, of Ashland, MA, and Beth Kozma and her husband, Jeffrey, of Utica; his beloved grandchildren, Emily Kozma of Utica, and Jayson and Matthew Kukowski of Ashland, MA. He also leaves his brother, Chester Kukowski, and his wife, Marsha, of Utica; his sister, Roberta Colwell, and her husband, Barton, of New Hartford; brothers-in-law, Donald Morris and his wife, Betty, of Old Forge, Ronald Morris and his wife, Debbie, of New Hartford, and Ted Zaniewski of Utica.
Also surviving are his many nieces and nephews: Kim and John Carhart, David Kukowski (Christine Geer), Stephen and Sharon Kukowski, Jennifer (Jack Dwyer) Sumner, Melissa and Mike Amos, Scott Morris, Michael Morris, Karyn and Mark Pierce, Lisa Zaniewski, Greg Zaniewski, Jeff and Katie Zaniewski, and Jon Ryczek; as well as 17 great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Ryczek and Carole Ann Zaniewski, and his brother, Joseph Kukowski.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Luke’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and St. Luke’s Dialysis Center for the compassionate care they provided to Tom.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Historic Old St. John’s Church in Utica. The family will greet relatives and friends at the conclusion of the Mass. Arrangements are in the care of Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd, New Hartford.
