Obituary

Terry F. Hoffman, Sr, 86, of New Hartford, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born on March 3, 1937 in Rome, NY a son of the late Marcellus and Pearl Deeley Hoffman. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. Terry proudly served in the United States Army, Air Force, and National Guard for many years. On July 18, 1959 Terry married the former Barbara Smith at St. Patrick’s Church in Utica, a loving marriage of 63 years.
Terry loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with all of them. He was also a very talented musician and could play just about any instrument and had a great singing voice.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of New Hartford; children, Terry Jr, and his wife, Lorie of New Hartford. Lynn Hooker and her husband, Jeffrey of McKinney, TX and Kathleen Hoffman of Utica. Grandchildren, Dylan Hoffman and his wife, Jordyn, Bryan Hoffman and his Fiancée Rachel Golden, Corey and Colby Hooker and Andrea and Zachary Radziewicz. Great Grandchildren, Cylus, Leo, and Gabriella. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Hoffman, grandson, Jacob; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James J. Sr. and Catherine Smith and brother-in-law James J. Smith, Jr.

The funeral will be on Monday, April 3, at 11:00am at the St. Thomas Church, Clinton Rd. New Hartford, where his mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Military Honors conferred by the U.S. Air Force. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
