Terrance (Chip) Anweiler, 55, of Marcy, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning.

Chip was born to Marge and Terry Anweiler and was raised in the village of New Hartford and was known for his nickname Chip because he was a “Chip off the old block “- being so much like his father at a young age. Chip loved being with his family above all else at camp on 4th Lake in Old Forge or at Hinckley. He enjoyed all things outdoors and was forever tan because of it! Chip graduated from New Hartford Senior High School, Mohawk Valley Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh. He had a 32 year career as a Hot Stick Foreman in the line department with National Grid and worked beside many that he considered dear close friends.

Chip married Lesli (Grimaldi) in a blessed union of 27 years at Our Lady of the Rosary Church surrounded by family and friends. They were blessed with 2 wonderful children, Madelynn and Shane that were the light of his life. Chip loved to surprise his wife and kids with vacations without notice and they would sometimes get picked up from school early to go on these adventures! Chip had a warm smile, a big heart and made friends wherever he was. He loved to travel and took a work hard play hard attitude towards life and was always on the go and planning for future escapades.

He is survived by his devoted wife Lesli (Grimaldi) and his 2 beloved children, Madelynn (Jon Reinhardt) and Shane. His parents, Marge and Terry Anweiler of New Hartford; brother, Jeff and wife Lisa Anweiler their kids Jake & Emma of New Hartford and his sister, Cyndy and her husband Bob Timm and their kids Nathan and Lauren of Old Forge; mother in law, Barbara (Heiderich) Grimaldi; sister in law and brother in law Kelli & Jay Vance and their son Aiden of Utica and many close aunts, uncles and cousins. Chip is survived by many close friends, including Max Becker and Paul & Karen Romano. He was predeceased by his father in law, Paul V. Grimaldi.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer at a day and time to be announced. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
