Suresh Rayancha, MD, 75, of Utica, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on June 18, 1950, in Jagtial, India, the son of the late Nagabhushanam and Kamala Siddamshetty Rayancha. He earned his medical degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and completed his residency in Independence, Iowa. In 1971, Suresh married Sarala Rani Battu in India.
Dr. Rayancha worked as a compassionate psychiatrist throughout his long career, serving patients in his private practice, St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Faxton Hospital, and most recently with MVHS.
Dr. Rayancha was an avid photographer and enjoyed painting, playing the harmonica, and listening to various genres of music. In his free time, he loved visiting Turning Stone Casino and Las Vegas, where he enjoyed trying his luck.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarala Rayancha; his children, Sumanth Rayancha of New York City, Sheetal Rayancha and her husband, Apurva Shah of Syracuse; his cherished grandchildren, Aveena and Saheli Shah; his two sisters and brother in India; and a large extended family both here and in India.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rashid Girshab, Dr. Shwe Win, Dr. Avinash Kambhampati, Dr. Scott Brehaut, Dr. Waleed Albert, as well as the numerous other providers that participated in his care. Additional thanks to the phenomenal nurses and staff at Wynn Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Dr. Rayancha.
A big thank you to the many friends and family that supported and showed their love to Dr. Rayancha throughout his illness.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 22 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
