Obituary

Steven K. Brunet, 48, of Utica, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

He was born in Concord, MA, at Emerson Hospital on November 23, 1975, to Henry J. Brunet III and HeidiMarie (Bonzelius) Brunet.

Steven attended Utica City Schools, which led him to his career in food service. He worked at several local restaurants as a cook, most recently at Carmella’s in New Hartford.

Steven deeply enjoyed fishing, camping, playing the trumpet with his father in a local band named Honeybush Brothers during the 90’s, and rooting for his favorite football team the Miami Dolphins.

He is survived by his daughter Shaelyn Winkler; sons Steven Brunet and Dakota Brunet; mother HeidiMarie Brunet; brother Hank Brunet and his partner Suzanne Winkler; sister Samantha Brunet David and her husband Robert David; many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as two great nieces.

He was predeceased by his father, Henry Brunet III.

Steven’s family would like to thank the extended Brunet and David families for all their help and support during such a difficult time.
