Obituary

Robert J. Murray, 22, of New York Mills, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Wynn Hospital.

He was born on March 19, 2001, in Syracuse, a son of John and Lisa Spina Murray. Robert graduated from New York Mills High School and attended MVCC. He loved his job working at Chanatry's Market in the produce department.

Robert was a member of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes campus. He loved Comets Hockey and was a faithful fan attending as many games as he could. He was also a fan of the New York Giants.

He is survived by his mother, Lisa Murray (Philip Schillaci) of New York Mills; father, John Murray of New Hartford; grandparents, Roberta and Frank Marrotta and Carol Murray; sister, Samantha Murray of Rome and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, John Spina, Jr. and Robert Murray and nephew Deven Elmer.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to all the staff at Wynn Hospital, especially Dr. Khazaal, Sue McKinstry, Irina Zhushma, RN, Stephanie Hisert, RN, Abby West, RN, Kristen Palmer, Dr. Qandah and his aunt, Debra Mosca for all the care, comfort and support given to Robert and his family.

The funeral will be on Wednesday, March 13, at 11:00 am at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes campus, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family will greet everyone following the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
