Obituary

Rita A. (Stevens) LoGalbo, 69, of Utica, NY, passed away on March 31, 2026, at Wynn Hospital.

She was born on January 12, 1957, in Norwich, NY, the daughter of the late Eugene W. Stevens and Ella L. (Diamond) Stevens. Rita was educated in the Utica City School District and spent many years working as a crossing guard for the Utica City School District.

Rita was married to the late Raymond Chapman. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, she loved ice cream, Hershey candy bars, KFC, and watching television, especially ME TV and The Golden Girls.

She enjoyed drawing, collecting jewelry (particularly rings), and spending time playing bingo at the casino.

She is survived by her brother, Samuel A. Stevens Sr. and his wife Mary; her sister, Eva Feisthamel; her brother, Phillip Stevens; many beloved nieces and nephews; and Adrean, with whom she shared a special bond

Rita was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Raymond Chapman; her brothers, Coleman Stevens and Joseph Stevens; and her sister, Phyllis Stevens.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mellisa Feisthamel for the devoted care and compassion she showed Rita over the years.

Services will be held privately at the discretion of the family. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
