Obituary

Randy Schmidt, 44, of Baldwinsville and formerly of Utica, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on July 22, 2025, at his grandmother’s home.

Born at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Hartford, NY, Randy was the son of Linda Fabrizio and Randy S. Schmidt. He married Amanda (Blair) Schmidt on September 11, 1999, in Whitestown, NY.

Randy absolutely loved his music, sports, and being outdoors. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, and he found joy in simple moments and the people around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Schmidt; sons Evan Schmidt, Michael Brown, and Preston Phillips; sisters Amanda Rizzo and Jennifer Palmer; grandmother Joan Fabrizio; mother Linda Furman and her husband Bill; father Randy S. Schmidt; nieces Sicily Rizzo and Harley Rizzo; and nephews Parker Rizzo and Jerry Rizzo.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Joseph Fabrizio.
