Obituary

Patrick J. Ferraiola, 83, of Utica, died May 13, 2024, at the Abraham House in Rome.

He was born September 14, 1940, in Utica, son of the late Sam and Mary Alteri Ferraiola and graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School. 

He was employed with the NYS Department of Mental Hygiene.

Patrick was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard Ferraiola (Diann), of Utica, James Ferraiola, of FL, and his sister Joanne Schmitt (Russell) of Marcy; his nieces and nephews Lisa Orsino, Richard Ferraiola, Jr., Russell (R.J.) Schmitt, III , Patricia Stevenson, Tina Ponce, Mark Garner, Mary, Rebecca Schmitt and Brian Rahn and many great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends Diane Hann and John Russo. Rosanna Flores, Maggie and his two pets Jene and Cody.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Abraham House in Rome for all of their care for Patrick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 25, at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay Street, Utica. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at the Convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abraham House, Rome, NY, or Anita’s Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
