Marie Carmella DeFazio Sirianni

Marie Carmella “Dolly” DeFazio Sirianni (April 12, 1926 – July 11, 2026), of New Hartford, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Threasa LoPiccolo DeFazio and Samuel J. DeFazio, and the beloved wife of the late Louis Anthony Sirianni.

Marie is survived by her children, Louis Anthony Sirianni Jr. and Natalie Sirianni Bazemore, husband Tony; her brother, Richard DeFazio, and his late wife, Jackie; and her sister, Rosann Coupe, and her late husband, Charles. She was predeceased by her brothers, Phil, Samuel, and Anthony and his wife, Marilyn. Marie also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Geloso, Stefanie Nicole Buono, and Julia Marie Casaletta; her great- grandchildren, Joseph Geloso, Julianna Geloso, Bradley Buono, and Mara Buono; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Marie worked for many years as a special education teacher’s assistant at Proctor High School, where she built lasting friendships and cherished her “Dear Old Proctor High” family. A devoted Catholic, she found comfort and joy in her church and faith. She loved cooking for those she cared about and treasured time with family and friends. At 100 years young, Marie leaves a legacy of warmth, devotion, and a life beautifully lived.

A Mass of Catholic burial will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish at Our Lady of Lourdes, 2222 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13502.
