Lynne M. Brooks, beloved daughter, friend, and lifelong animal lover, passed away peacefully, leaving behind memories of her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit.
Born to Barbara and Fred Brooks, Lynne was raised in the Utica, NY area by her devoted mother, Barbara, with whom she shared a deep and loving bond. She attended schools in Utica, Waterville, and Herkimer, forming lasting connections along the way.
Lynne held several jobs throughout her life, including a position at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. While consistency wasn’t always her strong suit, she was a capable and compassionate worker who gave her best when she was present.
Lynne’s generosity was one of her defining traits. She gave freely—whether it was her time, a kind word, or a small gesture to help someone or care for a stray. Her door and her heart were always open, especially to animals in need. She had a special love for cats, and her home was never without their quiet companionship.
She was deeply devoted to her late mother, Barbara, and now joins her in rest. Lynne leaves no known surviving relatives, but her spirit lives on in the many lives—human and animal—she touched with her kindness and giving nature.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Hamilton, NY.
Arrangements are provided by Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, Utica.
