In Memory of Leslie R. Lewis

Obituary

Leslie R. Lewis, 84 years old, of New Hartford, NY passed away on February 22nd, 2025.

He was born in Utica, NY. The son of Harold and Gloria Lewis, “Les” attended Utica Free Academy where he played baseball and football. Les would go on to play baseball at Syracuse University where he would proudly graduate last in his class. Les would go on to graduate last in his class again at New England School of Law and practice for the next 53 years. Along the way, he would marry Karen and have two sons, Jon and David. Les took great pride in coaching his kids and their teammates and watching them grow. If you asked about his greatest accomplish in life, he would say, “My two boys.” Les passed on his love for movies to both sons as the three would sometimes have entire conversations by simply exchanging movie quotes. And when he practiced law, he loved nothing more than singing old western classics in court houses all across New York state no matter how inappropriate the moment might be. He also loved baseball card, movie poster, and comic book collecting.

Les is survived by his brother Gary Lewis, his son Jon Lewis and wife Rachel Burday, their boys Jacob and Malcolm, and his son David and wife Alexandra Lewis and their son, Ripley. He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Gloria.

Calling hours will be held this Friday, February 28th, from 2-5pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds at 13 Oxford Rd, New Hartford, NY 13413.
