Laura M. Huss, of Whitesboro, New York, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the age of 100.

Laura was the daughter of Amanda Beagle & Emil Kalies. She has been a resident of Whitesboro since 1958. Laura attended local schools. After graduating from Proctor High School, she began working as a billing clerk for American Bleached Goods in New York City, New York.

On December 1, 1945, she married James R. Huss. Jim died at the early age of 40 in 1965.

Seven years later, she married John (Jack) D. Newlove on August 12, 1972. Together, they owned and operated Newlove Food Equipment for 19 years. They divorced in 1995. Jack died in 2003.

Laura spent 18 winters in Florida, where she actively participated in her park and formed many lifelong friendships.

Laura is survived by her son, Michael J. Huss, and his wife, Janice, of Whitesboro, NY, with whom she has lived since 2000; her daughter, Helen Force Schneider, and her husband, Rich, of Naples, Florida; and her son, James H. Huss, and his wife, Diana, of Clinton, NY. She leaves four grandchildren, Michael J. Force and his wife, Crystal, of Lafayette, NY; Derek J. Force and his wife, Heather, of Orlando, Florida; James R. Huss and his fiancée Anna Hennessey, of Forestport, NY; and her only granddaughter, Joanna Huss and her partner Brian Bronson, of Clinton, NY. She also leaves four cherished great-grandsons, Jonathan Force and his partner, DJ McConnell of Buffalo, NY; Connor and Mason Force of Orlando, Florida; and Greyson Force of Lafayette, NY.

There are no calling hours. Laura’s wish is to be cremated.
