Karen Ondarcho Marsh, age 62, of Clinton, NY, passed away April 28th, 2025, at 12:51pm, surrounded by family and loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Utica, NY, a daughter of Charles and Dlorah Ondarcho. She was educated at Clinton Schools and Utica College/St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. She married Gerald Marsh in 1997 in Floyd, NY. She was a Registered Nurse for the state at the Central New York Psychiatric Center for over ten years and cared for countless patients at the Masonic Home, Bethany Gardens, Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and Waterville Residential Care Center for forty years. She was well loved by her coworkers, patients, and the families of those she took care of.
Karen loved spending her time with her daughter, Emily Marsh, especially traveling tovarious ice hockey and lacrosse practices, games, and tournaments, and she made manymemories with other parents. She was a dedicated and loving mother, always doing whatever she needed to provide Emily with every opportunity possible. One of her favorite things to do was to see the ocean whenever possible. Traveling to places like Boothbay Harbor and Bar Harbor in Maine, Cape Cod, as well as Raleigh, North Carolina, were highlight vacations throughout the years that she always talked about. She wished to retire to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
Karen is survived by her daughter Emily Marsh, her brother Michael Ondarcho and his wife Beverly, her sister Debbie Ondarcho Nipe and her husband Kip, her sisters Laurie and Gail Ondarcho, several nieces and great-nieces, several nephews and great-nephews, as well as her childhood best friend Jessica de Flumere Lattimore and best friend and coworker Jane Torchia Boice. She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Dlorah Ondarcho, and her grandparents
Charles and Sophie Ondarcho and Eleanor Reese.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, there will be no funeral or other services. The family asks that you celebrate her life by following the wonderful precedent she’s set as a nurse, mother, and human being.
