Obituary

Judith M. Weiss, age 85, of Utica, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Wynn Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Utica, NY on November 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Frances B. Mason. She attended Utica Free Academy and was employed at the Savings Bank of Utica where she met her future husband. Judith was active in local theater and sang in the Utica Grace Church choir for many years. On October 27,1962 she was married to Paul Weiss at Grace Church, a loving and blessed union of 63 years. Over the years they lived in the Washington, D.C. area, Utica, NY, Houston, TX, New Hartford, NY and most recently in the Utica Masonic Care Community. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Surviving is her beloved husband, Paul; her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Gregory Portmann and her granddaughters Baila and Clio of California. Her son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Nicola Weiss and her granddaughter Cecilia of Washington.

Arrangements have been made by Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services. A private family service will be held with a burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.
