Obituary

John Glorioso, Jr., 78, of New Hartford and formerly of Gary, Indiana, died on June 22, 2026, at the Masonic Care Center.

John was born August 9, 1947, in Gary, IN, to Sara (Franzetti) Zemelko and John Glorioso, Sr. He was educated in Gary and at Indiana University. John served his country in the Air Force from March 1967 to March 1971.

On October 3, 1970, he was united in marriage to June Powell at St. Joseph Church in Newbury, England. They were married for almost 37 years, until her death on September 22, 2007. John was employed at one time with Chicago Pneumatic, and then Adjusters International. He enjoyed a good game of golf.

John is survived by his sons and their families: John III and wife Dana, and their children, Ryan and Lucy; Kevin and wife Jennifer, and their children, Jailyn and Marla; his mother Sara,he is also survived by his brother, Joseph (Roberta) and sisters, Jennie Chambliss and Margert (Frank) Rondinelli;; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Glorioso and their families, and three nieces in England.

John was predeceased by his father, John Glorioso, Sr.; his wife, June (Powell) Glorioso; his brother Ross Glorioso; his brother-in-law, Ronald Chambliss, sister-in-law Anne Dill and nephew Philip.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00am at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Lourdes campus). The family will greet friends at church following the Mass.
