Jeanne S. Benson, 97, of Whitesboro, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 15, 2025.

She was born on February 27, 1928, in Utica, the daughter of the late Norman and Marion (French) Satterlee. Jeanne was a graduate of New York Mills High School, the Utica School of Commerce, and the Utica Practical Nursing School, where she earned her LPN license.

On February 12, 1949, Jeanne married Edward Benson in Utica at South Church. They shared 51 years together until his passing on April 7, 2000. Jeanne worked as a bookkeeper at Revere Copper and Brass in Rome and later as an LPN at Broadacres Nursing Home in Deerfield. Above all, she treasured her family and found her greatest joy in time spent together, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Benson of New Hartford; her son, Douglas Benson and his wife, Christine, of Whitesboro; her grandchildren, John Benson and his wife Ivy, James Benson, Joshua Benson and his wife Amy, and Kathryn Bond and her husband Robert; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Bond, Henry, Hazel, and Harper Benson. She also leaves her siblings, William Satterlee, Mary Rink, and James Satterlee and his wife Gladys, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Norma Johnson, Norman Satterlee, Donald Satterlee, John Satterlee, Edward Satterlee, Carol Kaczor, Nancy Balawender, David Satterlee and Gerald Satterlee.

In keeping with Jeanne’s wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
