Obituary

Jeanne E. Hayes, 97, of New Hartford, died on Monday, November 27, 2023, at her home.

She was born on October 3, 1926, in Utica, a daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys Blowers Williams. She married William M. Hayes, Jr., on May 17, 1947, in Trinity Episcopal Church.

Jeanne was of the Episcopal faith and was a devoted wife and mother. She had a creative side which was reflected in her arts, crafts, and drawings. She passed her artistic talents to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Elsenbeck and her husband, Gary of Lee Center, Robert Hayes and his wife, Pieri of South Carolina and Patricia Tanoory of Oneida; grandchildren, Gary Elsenbeck, II of Utica, Jason Hayes of California, Jessica Hayes of Florida, Keegan Hayes of Colorado and Michael Tanoory of Washington, DC; great grandson, Ethan of Arizona and great granddaughters, Isabel of Utica and Lillian of California. She was predeceased by her husband, William M. Hayes, Jr.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Sikder at Slocum Dickson Medical Group and Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate care during her illness.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
