Obituary

Jean Shelanskey, age 91 of Clinton and formerly of North Bay, passed away Thursday, March 07, 2024, at Lutheran Care peacefully and comfortably with family by her side.

She was born August 10, 1932, in Troy, NY a daughter of William Rivette and Clorinda Palmeiri. Jean was educated at St. Elizabeth College of Nursing.
Jean married Richard Shelanskey on October 24th, 1953 in Elmira.

Jean is survived by her children Richard and Cathy Shelanskey of Florida. Brian and Barb Shelanskey of Utica and Kevin Shelanskey of Clinton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Carrie Cruz, Kevin Shelanskey Jr., Jason Shelanskey, Christopher Shelanskey, Dylan Shelanskey, Michael Decuffa, Nicholas Shelanskey and Tara Tyson. As well as many great-grandchildren.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Richard Shelanskey and her daughter Marianne Shelanskey.

The family would like to thank Lutheran Care for taking care of her in her later years.

The funeral will be on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The family will greet everyone following the Mass. Interment will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery where she will be eternally next to her beloved husband Richard. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
