Obituary

Janina Kudla, 97, of Utica, passed away, Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in St. Elizabeth Hospital.

She was born in Kliszow, Poland, January 21, 1926, the daughter of Vincent and Maria Bulawa. She received her education in business schools in Poland, studying to be and accountant. Janina married Joseph Kudla November of 1952 in Mielec, Poland. He died in 1989.

She came to the United States and Utica in November 1974. In Utica, she worked in the Pulaski Meat Market.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church.

Janina is survived by her three sons, Mark and wife Jola of Pittsburg, PA, Stanley of Utica and Peter and wife Vanessa of Utica; five grandchildren, Vito, Tommy, Nadia, Martha and Katrina; five great-grandchildren, Zofia, Max, Patrick and Scarlett and Charlie.

Calling hours are Sunday from 2-4 at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court @ York Streets. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Club Monarch in Yorkville following the service at the cemetery.
