Jane E. Hodges Imobersteg, 95, of New Hartford NY, passed away on March 11, 2024 at Wynn Hospital in Utica NY.
She was born on January 21, 1929, in Utica NY, daughter of Pomeroy and Charlotte Peate Hodges. She attended Utica Free Academy until her senior year and then graduated from Clinton High School.
Jane married Robert Allan Imobersteg on December 17, 1949. She was employed by Utica National Insurance. Jane and Bob owned and operated Upstate Travel in Utica NY for many years.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Jane enjoyed traveling and she and Bob travelled extensively throughout the world. She enjoyed most the years spent raising her children at the family camp on Kayuta Lake.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Dennis) Colburn, Mesa, AZ, Robert (Donna) Imobersteg, Jr., New Hartford, NY, Jeffrey (Tamara) Imobersteg, Daytona Beach, FL, and Beth (Andy) Dunlop, Jr., Cape Canaveral, FL; her grandchildren, Dennis (Nicole) Colburn, Jr., Andrew (Candace) Colburn, Betsy (Miguel) Castillo, Robert Imobersteg, III, Michael Imobersteg, Jeffrey (Michelle) Imobersteg, Steven (Shawn) Imobersteg, Amy (Nick) Garcia, and Andrew Dunlop, III; her great grandchildren, Isabella Colburn, Lily Colburn, Madelyn Colburn, Andrew Colburn, Jr., Paula Castillo, Sara Castillo, Miguel Andres Castillo, Sofia Castillo, Jeffrey Imobersteg, III, Rainey Imobersteg, Robert Imobersteg, IV; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and her siblings, George Hodges and Sally Hodges Mandeville, and her parents, Pomeroy
and Charlotte Peate Hodges.
The family wishes to acknowledge Jane’s caregivers Sue, Rose, Edna, Lily, Bella, and Carol, her many friends and the staff at Preswick Glen for their friendship and care. A special thank you to Dr. Dilip Kachare for his kindness, care, and compassion. Thanks to the staff at Wynn Hospital for their excellent care.
Family and friends may call on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Friedel, Williams, & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road New Hartford NY from 4 pm to 6 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 20th at 9:30 am. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or donations to the Forest Hill Cemetery for the veteran flower garden.
