James "Doc" Foley passed away peacefully at the age of 76, on September 5, 2023, surrounded by the warm embrace of his family.
Doc is survived by his beloved wife, Judy, his daughter Colleen, her children, Matthew, Hannah and their father, Matt Palmer. His son Jim, his wife, Rose, and their children, Annabelle and Samuel. Doc was born in Utica, NY and spent most of his time in Old Forge NY. A proud graduate of Marist College, Doc worked as a teacher, financial advisor, and real estate broker.
Doc was a character, to say the least. His outlook was to have fun and enjoy life with family and friends. He always was quick with a joke, an entertaining story or piece of wisdom. He could bring a smile to anyone's face. Doc loved cruising the Fulton Chain of Lakes, driving his convertibles around town, and making sure he got to the Old Forge dump on time.
Doc took great pride in engaging and supporting his community. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus and Kiwanis in Old Forge as well as the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in Utica.
