Harry “Howie” Wilson, 58, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at WYNN Hospital surrounded by family members.
He was born on January 24, 1968, in Carthage, New York, a son of Ada Schermerhorn Camidge and the late William Camidge. He was educated in the North Country and graduated from Bryant & Stratton College.
Howie worked as a customer service manager for Mobile Gas Stations. At one time, he proudly served with the Deerfield Fire Department. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, vacationing, playing poker, and watching Sunday football. His favorite team was the New York Giants.
He is survived by his significant partner of 26 years, David Shibley; his mother, Ada Segovis; his siblings, William Camidge, Sr. and his wife, Katie, Charles Camidge and his wife, Tammy, Loren Camidge and his wife, Heather, Melinda Necomb and her husband, Phil, Tammy Sullivan and her husband, Paul, and Cindy Camidge; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bear. Howie cherished making memories with his many nieces and nephews and truly valued the gift of being an uncle. His wish would be for them to hold those memories close whenever they think of him.
The family would also like to acknowledge Irene Loiselle, who was like a sister to Howie, as well as Tweet and the Higby family for their friendship and support throughout many years.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court St., Utica. A bereavement will be held from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Burrstone Inn in New Hartford. The family would like to thank Nicole De Vincenzi and her staff at The Burrstone Inn for there generosity during this difficult time.
