Frank P. Gesualdo Jr.
January 12, 1935 to May 17, 2026
Frank P. Gesualdo Jr., age 91, of New Hartford, NY and formerly of Nutley, NJ and Branchburg, NJ died May 17, 2026 at Eastern Star Home where he was to begin rehabilitation services. Born on Garside St. in Newark, NJ to Frank and Margaret Gesualdo, Frank was educated at Barringer High School where he was the only male student to rank amongst the top 10 in his class. He married Marie Angelina Consolo November 10, 1963 at St. Lucy’s Church in Newark, NJ. Frank was employed with the city of Newark working his way up to Chief of Code Enforcement. At the same time, he also worked as a Real Estate Agent eventually obtaining his Broker’s License not only to provide for his family at the time, but to assure a college education was part of his children’s futures.
Frank always lived his life with a purpose. While making a new life with his sweetheart, Marie (Angie), he never neglected his first family. Visually impaired himself and unable to drive, he was always there to support his blind sister and younger brother during times of need. His parents were treated no differently. With times changing, he provided housing for his mother and father just down the hill from their grandchildren. Family always came first, money never worshipped. He wanted his parents to be an integral part of his children’s lives, just one of many admirable traits passed down to Frank’s own children. His willingness to help and support others extended far beyond immediate family as well.
Frank was truly ‘one of a kind’. Anyone meeting him for the first time would often relay the same: “what a great guy, funny guy, love him!”. His never-ending dialogue and sense of humor were like no others, unique, animated and impossible to forget. The same applied to his unconditional devotion to his 7 grandchildren. Whether wrestling, baseball/softball, soccer, music or dance, if he was in town, he’d be right there, the biggest cheerleader of all, rain or shine. From sports to graduations, pumpkin patches to roller coasters, he’d always be by their sides making endless, priceless memories.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife Marie (Angie), his 3 children, Frank III, Philip and Maria as well as their spouses, Debra and Susan Gesualdo and Raymond Burynski respectively. Frank is also survived by his 7 grandchildren: Frank IV and Matthew Gesualdo, Christopher and Alexandra Gesualdo and Raymond, Rosemarie and Sophia Burynski along with brother Nicholas’s wife Carmella Gesualdo. He is predeceased by his mother, Margaret, father, Frank and siblings Nicholas, Genevieve and Vincent.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held for Frank on June 20, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Bridgewater Manor 1251 US-206 Bridgewater, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Association of the Blind and Visually impaired https://www.abvimi.org/your-help/donate-now/
