Obituary

Fawzi Abdulkareem Altayih, 22, of Utica, New York, passed away on June 20, 2026, at Sitrin.

Born in Iraq, Fawzi was the son of Abdulkareem Alhayih. He was educated through the House of the Good Shepherd and was known for his curiosity, creativity, and love of learning.

Fawzi enjoyed making and building things on his own and had a passion for bikes, cars, and computers. Cars were a particular interest of his, and he loved talking about them with family and friends. His enthusiasm and knowledge brought joy to those around him.

Fawzi is survived by his sister, Ghufran; his cousin, Tabarak; his aunt, Maryam; and his father, Abdulkareem. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who came, offered support, and showed kindness during this difficult time. Their compassion and care have been greatly appreciated.
