Obituary

Ellen F. Williams, 96, of Whitesboro, died on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Presbyterian Home.

She was born on June 15, 1927, in Utica to the late William and Lillian Jones and graduated from UFA in 1945. Ellen married John G. Williams at Moriah Church in Utica in 1950. John passed away in 1998. At various times, Ellen worked for Commercial Travelers, Utica Mutual & Nicholas Calogero Accounting Firm.

Ellen had a beautiful and loving soul, and her life embodied her faith daily. Family and friends and strangers were often blessed with her kindness and generosity. During difficult times, she was a constant inspiration and support.

She was a member of the Westminster Moriah Olivet Church in Utica. With her free time, she enjoyed family gatherings, travels with family, reading, puzzles and Welsh Music.

She is survived by her son Thomas Williams and his wife Connie of Endwell; grandchildren Daniel Williams and his wife Lindsey of Binghamton, Stephen Williams and his wife Jennifer of Binghamton and Kristin Wolcott and her husband Adam of Lafayette, NJ; eight great grandchildren; sister, Carol Franco of New Hartford; nieces, Michelle Mancuso and family and Lynette Franco and family. She was predeceased by her brother William Jones and her great-grandson Abel Williams.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at the Presbyterian Home for all the care and compassion given to Ellen.

The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, April 20th at 1:30 at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in New Forest Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm prior to the service.
