Obituary

Edith Trini Lindsay, 47, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her home.

She was born on May 17, 1978, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Theodora James. Edith was a high school graduate and made history as the first woman to work as both a machine operator and forklift operator at GENPAK of Middletown and Murray’s Chicken Plant in South Fallsburg.

Edith had a deep love for her children and held a special place in her heart for her first grandson, Kairo. She shared a close bond with her elder sister, Pebbles, whom she regarded as a second mother. Edith enjoyed working hard and took pride in providing for herself and her family. She was a proud enthusiast of marijuana.

Edith loved to listen and dance to her favorite music. Edith shared a close bond and was loved deeply by The McDonald Family. Ediths heart touched everyone she ever met and came in contact with. She knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face when needed most and was always the life of the party.

She is survived by her children, Yamika Serrano, Devine Serrano, Eisa Kouture, Ciara Thomas, Arianna McDonald, and Emonni McDonald; her grandchildren, Kairo Serrano, Azeera Magano, Anjali McDonald, and Ramari Robinson; her siblings, Felicia, Laverne, and Jessica Lindsay, and Lionel Chamblee; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and beloved uncle, Keith James.

Although separated, she is also survived by her husband Asphor McDonald whom she shared 24 years of life with, married for 14. 

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court St., Utica.
