Donna Jean Reynolds Timbs, age 74 of New Hartford, NY and formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, died unexpectedly and peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home.

She was born January 3, 1949 in Niagara Falls, a daughter of Jean and Calvin Reynolds. She graduated from LaSalle Sr. High School in the class of 1967 and then attended Niagara County Community College.

She married Richard G. Timbs in 1970 in Niagara Falls, and dedicated her life to her two daughters, Alison and Sara. Once her girls entered school, she became employed for a period of time by the United States Postal Service. Upon retirement, she loved nothing more than spending time with her five grandchildren.

Donna Jean was a talented artist, loved painting, drawing, traveling around the world, watching late night talk shows, the BBC, Canadian television, classic comedies and horror movies, and British murder mysteries which she would always solve within the first five minutes. She enjoyed researching her ancestry with the help of her cousin Andrea. She also loved Vernors Original Ginger Soda, Viola’s Subs, and DiCamillo’s Bakery. She admired the paintings of Monet, and enjoyed visiting the places that served as inspiration for her favorite impressionist artists. She was a doting mother and grandmother, and most recently spent significant time following the several indictments of Donald J. Trump. To put it politely, she was not a fan.

She is survived by her daughter Alison Elizabeth (Timbs) Keeler and son-in-law William E. Keeler Jr. of New Hartford, daughter Sara Jean (Timbs) Klossner of New Hartford; grandchildren Joshua David Keeler of Denver, Co., Benjamin Todd Keeler of New Hartford, Grace Elizabeth Leslie Keeler of Manhattan, Averill Richard Klossner of New Hartford, and Reagan Jean Klossner of Mooresville, North Carolina; by her siblings Thomas Reynolds, and his wife Sheila, Jacquelyn Martinez, Janice Martinez Anderson and her husband, Gordon “Gordy” Anderson, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her loving cousin Andrea Fortin Nossavage, several other cousins and close friends, and her beloved cat, Muffin, who enjoyed special treats at her door each and every morning.

She was predeceased by her father Calvin Wesley Reynolds, her mother Jean Marie Fortin Reynolds Martinez, and her step-father John Martinez; by her beloved brother Calvin F. Reynolds, and by her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Aline Fortin, and her paternal grandparents Francis M. and Yvonne M. Reynolds; by her four uncles Andrew, Roger, and Lawrence Fortin, and Charles Reynolds, each whom she cherished dearly. She was also predeceased by her beloved feline, Josephine “JoJo” - who was loved by her and her daughters for nearly 19 years.

Donna Jean felt society was cruel at times and was always hoping for a world free of pain and suffering, where every single person on the planet would enjoy healthcare, wealth, safety and real happiness.

A private family ceremony - because she loved her privacy - will take place in Niagara Falls, to celebrate Donna Jean’s life. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
