Obituary

Dolores (Dolly) M. Legare, 92, of New Hartford, died on Friday, January 12, 2024, at her home.

She was born on January 2, 1932, in Utica, a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie Tady Ferris. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales School in Utica. Dolly married Leo Legare on June 28, 1952 in Utica and he died on August 26, 1999.

In her free time, she enjoyed painting and singing.

She is survived by her sister in law, Ceil Ferris of Rome and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son David Legare and seven siblings.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Robin, Mandy, Cindy and Maria who were the caregivers that gave so much love and care to Dolly. The family would also like to thank her lifelong friend Gladys for the companionship they shared.

The funeral will be on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hour will be on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm prior to the funeral.
