Obituary

Dennis Martin Usmail age 81, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2024.

He was born on March 18, 1943, the son of Julia Murphy Usmail and Martin Usmail. He graduated from UFA and had an Associate degree in electrical technology at MVCC. He was married to Bonnie Bailey on May 25, 1963. Dennis worked as an Autobody mechanic for 5 years after which he became an electrician at Midstate Electric. Dennis started his own business, Usmail Electric Inc, in 1972. He owned and operated Usmail Electric Inc for 40 years after which he retired and spent winters in Naples, Fl, and summers in Millens Bay. He loved fishing, boating, scuba diving and morning coffee at camp watching the sun rise.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Bonnie of 61 years, Son Todd (Noreen) Usmail of New Hartford, Tamara Usmail and spouse Steve Paul of New Hartford, Scott (Ashley) Usmail of Westmoreland, Kelly Esche and Jon Bryant of Westmoreland. Seven Grandchildren who affectionately called him “Bompa” Cory (Rachel) Usmail, Courtney (Paul) Raymond, Brittany (Dustin) Walsh, Ashlynn and Waylon Esche, Maxen and Hudson Usmail, also survived by 4 great grandchildren Elaina and Paul Raymond, Cora and Wacey Usmail and was waiting for great grandchild baby Walsh. He leaves behind also sisters Denise Usmail and Diane (Carmen) Dainatto. He also leaves behind his canine companion Chloe. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Martin, sister Darlene Talerico

A life well lived and to its fullest!

The funeral will be on Wednesday at June 26, 11:00 am at St. Thomas Church, Clinton Rd., New Hartford where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The family will receive all the guest following Mass. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
