Obituary

Dejon Sinclair Williams, 53 of Rome, NY, and formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, died on April 30, 2026, at Rome Memorial Hospital.

He was born on 14 April 1973 in Jamaica, Queens, NY, a son of Linda A. P. Williams and Jessie Lee Williams. He was a high school graduate of Central High School in Newark, NJ, and was a factory worker at various companies.

He enjoyed traveling, walking, and spending time with the people he loved and who mattered to him.

He is survived by his two sons, Dyshawn Williams (33) of NJ, and Ethan Bailor (14) of NJ, and three grandchildren, Suri, Sahara-Anwar, and Laith-Asani “Oleander”. He leaves behind a brother, Antonio Williams of NC, an aunt, Beverly Baldwin of NJ, two sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded by his mother, Linda Alvin Porter Williams (2017), his brother Scott R. Williams (1989), his brother Garnel Williams (2018), and his aunts Joyce Barlow (2015) and Anna Pearl Brown-Davis (2021).

Services will be held virtually, live streamed through a group on Facebook. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court St., Utica.
