Cynthia A. Sulzener, 58, of Canandaigua, NY, died on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford, NY after a long battle with Huntington’s Disease.

She was born on December 28, 1962, in Dansville, NY. A daughter of the late “Big John” A. Haight and Winnifred L. (Kidman) Haight. Cynthia graduated from Canandaigua High School and continued her education at Wayne Finger Lakes Nursing Program, where she received her LPN degree. She worked as an LPN for Quail Summit of Canandaigua, NY for many years and absolutely loved caring for the elderly.

Cynthia always carried a smile on her face with a great sense of humor. She wore her heart on her sleeve with a strong work ethic and compassion for others. She loved her children and being a mother so much that she would take in anyone in need. Anyone that had the privilege of knowing and encountering Cynthia loved her for her genuine soul.

She is survived by her children, Lee Sulzener of Canandaigua, NY, Sara Shipman and her husband, Nathan of Stanley, NY, Danielle Sulzener, of Naples, NY, Michael Sulzener, of Canandaigua, NY and John Sulzener of Lima, NY; grandchildren, Leah Preston, Nolan Shipman, Anthony and Brock Mendez; brother, Sidney (Sid) Haight of Cortland and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joe Sager.

The family of Cynthia would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Sitrin Health Care Center for the very special care she received while at Sitrin.

A celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
