Holland Patent - Miss Christine L. Janicki, age 56, passed away on Monday July 9th, 2018 at Faxton-St.Luke’s Healthcare with the love and devotion of her family by her side.

Chrissy was born in Utica on March 14, 1962, the daughter of the late Richard N. Janicki and Cynthia (Greene) Brown.

Chrissy’s larger than life personality in her tiny stature, she loved nothing more than being the center of attention. She could walk into a room and make friends with her smile. Chrissy was a tiny person with a big heart and knew nothing but love. If you were her friend or family, you were lucky to have been loved by her. There were so many things that she enjoyed, she loved to spend time with her friends and family. She always dressed the part, she loved her clothes, jewelry and freshly painted nails. From childhood to adult, she loved jigsaw puzzles and always had a stack of them. With her kind nature she had a love of Woo Woos (dogs), kitties and babies. If you were lucky, you’d get a shoulder massage. If you were luckier, you received a pet name. Chrissy also enjoyed visiting different churches and participating in their services. She could often be spotted around town with her friends at some of her favorite restaurants. She was precious to all who knew her.

She is survived by her Aunt Eleanor (Ellie) Selwach of Utica, her Uncle William (Bill) Conklin of Sauquoit, her nieces and nephew Heather & Zac Wasielewski of New Hartford, Leon Janicki and Jennifer Shoemaker of South Carolina, Amanda Janicki of Vestal, and her great nephew Casimir (Caz) Wasielewski of Utica, her cousins Sherri Lyke and Eric Szatko of Sauquoit, Darlene and Phil DiPerna of Sauquoit, Nash & Morgan Lyke, and Philip & Jordan DiPerna. Along with her parents, Chrissy was predeceased by her stepfather Lee Brown, her brother Richard Janicki, her Uncle Stanley (Stan) Selwach and her Aunt Charlaine Conklin.

The family would like to thank all the people of the Powell Road CNYDDSO for the exceptional quality of care, love and friendship that was extended to her. The people there became her second family and she was treated as such. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for the love and care she received.

Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 AM - noon with funeral services to follow at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in the Sauquoit Valley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
