print thisChristine Adele Coon, 91, of Fairfax, Virginia died January 16, 2024 at The Virginian Retirement Community.
She was born in Utica, NY on September 4, 1932, the daughter of Gerald G. and Christina Rock Coon. She graduated from Utica Free Academy and briefly worked for the Hospital Plan in Utica before moving to Washington, DC. She worked for 31 years at the Pentagon, eventually retiring in 1987 as Administrative Officer to the Secretary of the Navy, John Warner.
In her retirement, she enjoyed time in Florida, Colorado and Virginia and visiting with friends.
Christine is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Jean Ruff, Helen Stemmer and Geraldine Bride and a brother, Gerald H. Coon.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 15, at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. There are no calling hours.
