Obituary

Carol J. Hervey, 90, of New Hartford, died Thursday October 26, 2023, at Sitrin Healthcare.

She was born October 18, 1933, in Utica, a daughter of Marion (Bridget) Davis and Hugh Davis. She graduated from Holland Patent School and later studied nurse’s training in Utica.

Carol worked for many years as a nurse, first in St. Elizabeth Hospital with newborns, later as a Private Duty nurse in Utica and beyond.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Carol loved craft shows, Christmas and Teddy Bears; shopping for gifts and beautiful decorations; annual trips to Vermont, boat rides, day trips, holiday dinners with friends, music, and art.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn Hervey, New Hartford; cousin Jo-Anne Greene, London; her cherished cats Pearl and Blue Moon.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the nursing staff at Sitrin Healthcare for always trying to keep her comfortable.

The funeral will be on Thursday November 2 at 8:45 AM at Mary Mother of Our Saviour Church (Rosary Campus) 1736 Burrstone Road, New Hartford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours are Wednesday, November 1, f rom 4-6 PM at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
