Candace A. Meyers, 77, of Frankfort, NY passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Upstate Medical Center, in the arms of her loving daughter.

Candace was born in Utica on July 4, 1948, the daughter of Roy Ignatius and Ada Jane (Ladd) Meyers.

She was raised locally and was a 1967 graduate of Utica Free Academy.

Candace was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

In her teenage years she worked as a candy striper at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Her first full time job was at the Post Agency in Utica.  She then took on the most important job of being a full time mother, when she gave birth to her beloved daughter Kelly in 1972. She excelled at that, and was the best mother anyone could ever wish for. It wasn’t until Kelly was school age, that she then worked in the Utica schools as a teacher assistant for children with special needs. She retired from the work force after a very successful 23 year career at Met Life. While working there she earned many awards, recognitions, and was rewarded with trips to Toronto and Alexandria Bay. She retired at 55 ½ years old and was elated for her next role, becoming a Grandma. She went on to care for her 2 grandchildren, Kylie and Kourtney, and loved every minute of it. They brought such joy to her life and were her purpose. She brought them to daily swimming lessons, crafts at the park, horse lessons, read to them, and loved them immensely. She attended every horse show, soccer game, band concert and events that the girls were involved in.

Candace enjoyed time with her family the most, frequent and long talks with her siblings, her dear friends, her home, the sunroom her son in law Brian built, her comfy bed, a fresh breeze, her scanner, her flowers and her yard. Many happy memories were made at their family camp on Hinckley Lake. She loved watching sports such as golf, baseball, basketball and football. She was an avid Yankee fan, not missing a game. She and her brother Jack would be on the phone together, watching Wheel of Fortune nightly, unless of course it was Yankee season, then they watched the games together over the phone. Bryson DeChambeau was a favorite, Syracuse University, Indiana Fever, and she loved Josh Allen from the Buffalo Bills and Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs. She loved music and she would know and sing all the words to even the most recent releases, and dance a little while listening to a good tune. She had an eye for a sharp car and knew the makes and models just as well as any teenager would. She enjoyed a little gambling at the casino, a game of any kind, and a nice meal out. She loved spending time with her daughter and her family. Candace had a bond with her daughter that was unbreakable and she loved every minute they spent together.

She was very fortunate to have been raised by wonderful and loving parents, and she shared a very special relationship with them. She was blessed with 6 siblings who were raised in a close, supportive, and loving family. They were bonded together by a strong sense of family and true love for one another, and this rare bond has only grown stronger with each passing year.

Candace struggled with serious medical issues, but she endured and still wore a beautiful smile on her face every day. She has been the glue that has held everyone together, and she will be missed more than words can quantify.

She is survived by her adored daughter Kelly Mazurowski and her husband Brian Mazurowski of Sauquoit, as well as her beloved granddaughters Kylie Mazurowski and Kourtney Mazurowski.

Candace is the eldest of 7 siblings. She leaves one sister Karen & Paul Sacco of New Hartford; 5 brothers: Roy (Butch) Meyers of Utica, Robert (Bob) & Jeanie Meyers of Utica, John (Jack) & Chris Meyers of Clinton, James (Jim) & Sue Meyers of Colorado, and Karl and Cindy Meyers of Texas. She also leaves many great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Candace also had many dear friends that she treasured: Paula & Michael Barbato, Cheryl Mondi, Bobby Klenotiz, Charlene Wolak, Laurie Lebuis, and so many others.

She was always ready for a fun game of playing pitch, dice, or Racko with Admir Keren and enjoyed watching the fireworks display he performed for her Independence Day birthday celebrations.

She also had many wonderful neighbor friends: Maryann Daley, Celeste, Susan, Flora and others.

Candace was predeceased by her loving parents Roy I. Meyers Jr. In 1996 and Ada Jane (Ladd) Meyers in 2017, and two special aunts Emily Gossin and Shirley Knapp.
