Obituary

Brian Thomas Fitzgerald, 71, of New Hartford, passed away in his home on Friday, July 11, 2025. He was born on October 20, 1953 in the Bronx, NY, son of Thomas and Irma (Zambarbieri) Fitzgerald.

He worked at the Bank of New York, Utica National, and other businesses as a computer programmer and software engineer. Brian was a member of St. John the Evangelist church in New Hartford. He was a very talented musician; his passion was playing the guitar.

Brian is survived by his brother Garrett Fitzgerald and his wife Renee of New Hartford; his sister Denise Cira and her husband Victor of Rhode Island; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Irma (Zambarbieri) Fitzgerald.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday July 22, 11:00AM, in the lower mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, 2407 Oneida St, Utica, NY. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In honor of Brian, friends may consider donating to Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St, Utica, NY.
