Obituary

Bette Lou Haggas, 84, of Chattanooga, TN and formerly of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021.

She was born on March 5, 1937, in Utica, NY, a daughter of the late Arnold and Helen Newell LaVine. She worked at the Kallet Drive In Theater where she met her late husband Walter Mons Haggas and moved to Verona Beach, NY then retiring in Bonita Springs, Fla. We lost Walt on August 6, 2005.

Bette loved butterflies, going to the beach, traveling, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving and caring mother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her children, Crystal Burton of Ft. Myers, FL, Steven Burton of Bonita Springs, FL, Lori Clendenen and her husband Robert of Cleveland, GA, Scott Haggas and his wife, Angie of Loudon, TN, and Christina Ayers and her husband, Brent of Ft. Myers, FL; stepdaughter, Lezlee Moncrief of Mallory, NY; six grandchildren; siblings, Chuck, Arnold and Douglas LaVine and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Burton.

The funeral will be on Friday at 1:00 at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, NY. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the funeral.
