Obituary

Barbara A. Chilton, 86, of New Hartford, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare.

She was born April 20, 1935, in Utica a daughter of the late Francis and Frances Wolzanski Kolwaite and she graduated from New Hartford High School in 1953. Barbara married Richard Chilton on October 6, 1956, in St. John the Evangelist Church. He died on May 17, 2007.

Barbara was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Jaycees. She enjoyed being active and looked forward to camping, skiing, walking, swimming and traveling.

She is survived by her life partner, Eugene Kunzi; sons, Mark Chilton and his wife, Michelle of New Hartford and Todd Chilton and his wife, Cynthia of Parkland, FL; grandchildren, Kristina Hassler and her husband, Andrew, Kayla Chilton and Carson Chilton; great grandchildren, Anthony and Jackson; brother, Dr. Paul Kolwaite and his wife, Jacqueline and many beloved nieces, nephews and many special friends.

The services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
