Arthur "Art" Rocco Christopher, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024. Born in Utica, New York in 1933, Art lived a life filled with family, service, and a passion for history and the New York Giants.

Art's early years were shaped by his hometown of Utica. As a young man, he honed his work ethic as a paperboy and later served his country during the Korean War era. Following his service, Art embarked on a successful career as a systems analyst, working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Revere Copper and Brass, and SUNY Delhi.

In the 1970s, Art's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found ARC Industrial Housekeeping, a testament to his dedication and drive. Beyond his professional achievements, Art was a pillar of his community. He was a Republican Party committeeman, and a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in South Utica, where he actively served on the church council. In his retirement years, Art continued his commitment to his faith by serving as a bookkeeper for several churches.

Art's life was enriched by his love for his family. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 67 years, Donna Elaine (Stottlar) Christopher and five children: Lynn Haefele (John), John (Mary), Peter (Lori), Laurie Gonyea (Garret), and Matthew. He was predeceased by his son Mark. Art's legacy extends to his many grandchildren (including Stacey Phillips (Paul), Alana, Katherine (Zak), and Samantha Christopher, Rebecca Klossner (Jon), Philip and Zachary Gonyea), and great-grandchildren.

Beyond family and work, Art nurtured a lifelong love for building models of all kinds. He relished traveling to historical sites, bringing history to life for himself and his family. Art's unwavering loyalty extended to the New York Giants, a tradition he shared with his children through yearly attendance at games facilitated by the NFL Touchdown Club.

Art Christopher will be remembered for his dedication to family, his commitment to service, and his enthusiasm for life's adventures.

Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on May 15 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford., New Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Art's memory supporting the Alzheimer's Association would be valuable and appreciated.
