Obituary

Anne Whitney, of Naples, FL and New Hartford, NY passed away July 27, 2025 at the age of 85 years old. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard (Dick) Whitney, and second husband, Theodore (Ted) Roberts.

Devoted mother of David (Sandra), Daniel (Julie), Douglas (Lisa), and Debra Whitney (Karin), and proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Born in Utica, NY, Anne met her first husband, Dick Whitney, in high school, and they continued to date while she attended The College of Wooster in Ohio. They married soon after graduation and moved to Colorado Springs, CO, while Dick served in the Army. After leaving active duty, they settled in Rochester, NY, where they raised their four children.

Later in life, Anne and Dick spent their winters in Naples, FL, where they loved playing tennis and golf and made many cherished friends. After Dick passed in 2002, Anne continued to be active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She married her second husband, Ted Roberts, in 2014, and they spent four very happy years together traveling and spending time with family in Maine, Florida, and upstate New York. Anne always had a smile and kind words for everyone she met, and she remained deeply involved in her community and her children’s lives.
