Anna Avetsiuk, 73, of Utica, NY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born on October 20, 1948 in Belarus, the daughter of the late Vasily and Natalia Andrusevich. She was one of six children. On January 7, 1978, she was united in marriage to Petr Avetsiuk of Kobrin, Belarus and they were blessed with 11 children. In 1988, Anna’s family left everything and immigrated to the United States.

Anna devoted her life to her children and family. She was loved and cherished by so many people for her selfless and generous heart. She welcomed everyone with open arms, and you never left her home hungry, always with something for later. A delicious warm meal was always a phone call away. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, grocery shopping with her sons, reading and spending quality time with the family. Her faith was unbreakable, and she lived a life so others would see Jesus through her. Anna was a devoted member of the Slavic Pentecostal Church for 30+ years. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.

Anna is survived by her husband of 43 years, Petr Avetsiuk; 6 daughters, Natalia (Frank) Procopio of Sauquoit, Malvina Avetsiuk of Utica, Elena Avetsiuk of Utica, Galina (Mikhail) Bogomolov of Wasilla, AK, Valentina Kuklina of Utica, and Anna Avetsiuk of Schuyler; 4 sons, Vasily Avetsiuk of Utica, Sergey Avetsiuk of New Hartford, Petr Avetsiuk Jr. of Utica and Mikhail Avetsiuk of Utica; 7 cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Michael and Julianna Bogomolov, Daniel and Mason Kuklin, Jacob Melo and Benjamin Kraeger; sisters, Manya Savich, Malvina Grib, and Olga Grib; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her son, Misha Avetsiuk; two brothers, Ivan Andrusevich and Nikolai Andrusevich.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 4 to 6 pm at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.
