Ann Marie Tucciarone, 89, of Whitesboro (formerly of Utica)passed away peacefully after a long, courageous health battle, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica.

Born April 27, 1936, in Utica, Ann was the daughter of the late Giovanni Joseph and Mary (Ray) Juliano. Ann was educated in Utica City schools, graduating from Proctor High School in 1954. Ann then worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for Utica City Schools, helping students while specializing in English as a Second Language. This was a position that Ann held for over twenty years, taking great pride in teaching and educating her students.

In 1957, Ann married the love of her life and soulmate, Angelo Joseph Tucciarone at St. Anthony’s Church in East Utica. Ann and Angelo shared a loving, joyful union together for 45 yearsuntil Angelo’s passing in February of 2002. Through this union they welcomed two children, Dino Francis and Lori Ann. They raised their children in a loving, family-centered home exclusively in the neighborhoods of East Utica, where they would reside together for the entirety of their beautiful, long union together.

Although Ann took pride in many aspects of her life, there was nothing—truly nothing—that Ann loved and valued more than her family. It was her primary focus, passion, and reason for living. Ann hosted family and friends at her home on a weekly basis. An incredible cook, Ann would not cook anything for her family besides a delicious, multi-course, homemade Italian feast, with recipes that her children and grandchildren still use to this day. If you were stopping by Ann’s house, you were likely staying for a cup of coffee and friendly conversation, to be enjoyed on her back porch. Ann was so devoted to her family that her home became the epicenter for Sunday dinners and holidays, drawing everyone together on a consistent basis. Ann deeply enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, having daily phone calls with her sisters and hosting Christmas Eve dinner, surrounded by the most important people in her life.

If it were even possible, this love and passion only intensified with the birth of her four grandchildren: Alessandra, Amanda, Alissa, and Tori. Becoming a grandmother (lovingly referred to as “Nana”) gave Ann a new role, and coming as no surprise, she was perfect at it. Their fondest memories include hosting lunches by her pool in her signature handkerchief headband, picking strawberries in her garden, supervising the kids in homemade playhouses built by her husband, and making “reindeer food” to sprinkle outside on Christmas Eve. Ann loved hosting her grandchildren to sleepovers, which always includedcandy and a scary movie. In January of 2022, Ann welcomed her great-grandchild, Cooper James, whom she simply adored.

Ann gave everything she had to her family, and that was known by all. Perhaps the greatest gift she gave her family were theclose relationships that they all have all formed and maintained to this very day. Because of Ann and the time and care she dedicated to everyone, they will forever remain a close, tight-knit family, which is truly the greatest gift of all.

Ann is survived by her son, Dean (Laurie) Tucciarone of New Hartford; her daughter, Lori (Jon Yager) Ambrosi of Whitesboro; her beloved grandchildren, Alessandra Ambrosi of New York City, Amanda (Kyle Kuty) Tucciarone of New Hartford, Alissa (Andrew Ford) Tucciarone of New Hartford, and Tori (Zack Correnti) Ambrosi of Whitesboro; her great-grandson, Cooper Correnti; sisters Rose Primarolo and Antionette Kelly as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Angelo Tucciarone, and siblings Frances (Tony) Marino, Betty (Vincent) Femia, Frank (Adeline) Juliano, John (Irene) Juliano, and Jim (Carmelita) Juliano.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at One Caring Place and US Care for the compassionate care and comfort they provided to Ann on a daily basis, specifically Tiffany Lackey and Carmacita Rosado.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Private Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will greet friends and relatives immediately after the Mass.
