Obituary

Alvin Midget, 66, of Utica, NY, was called to rest by the Heavenly Father on November 6, 2025, at The Pines Nursing Home, Utica.

He was born March 24, 1959, in Utica, the son of James and Evater (Boles) Midget and attended Thomas R. Proctor High School and was a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.

He was gifted at a young age playing drums, along with a few friends they formed a band. They would get together for they loved playing music.

He is survived by his daughters, Neesha and Jessica Rhett, his sisters Marie Fields, Brenda Dillard, Diane McDowell, Sheila Midget, and Sandra Thomas; favorite, brothers in law, Larry and Jimmy.  He was predeceased by his sister Patricia, mother Evater, father James Midget and brother James “Sonny” Midget, Jr. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and his friends Michael Denmark and Gary Zayas (Gotti). He was also predeceased by another friend Donnie Graham.

Calling hours are on Friday from 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court at York Streets. His Homegoing service will be at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
